A core reason our organization chose an advanced HubSpot plan was to have robust task management and true interoperability with external to-do platforms like ToDoist. However, we discovered after purchase that HubSpot does not support triggering workflows when a HubSpot Task is created—nor does it allow for real-time or seamless two-way sync between HubSpot’s task list and other leading task managers.
This is a major productivity gap, especially for teams who already live in tools like ToDoist or Asana and expect HubSpot’s “task list sync” to be part of their subscription. Documentation used to reference this capability, which influenced our purchasing decision. Now, we find there’s no way to automate or mirror tasks made in HubSpot into other tools, and no workaround via Zapier or native workflows (since Task is not a supported workflow trigger).
This significantly limits our ability to keep work and follow-ups connected between platforms, creating manual, error-prone busywork and undermining the value proposition of a unified CRM + productivity suite. Please bring back or introduce true workflow triggers for Task creation, and support two-way sync with third-party task apps—even if just via workflow/webhook.
Thank you for prioritizing this. It affects how teams choose platforms, and impacts the daily experience of many HubSpot customers.
