After an accessibility audit, we’ve ran into a number of issues with Hubspot forms. I’ve listed below the findings and WCAG criteria (with relevant w3 links) for each issue:
- Field errors are not announced or compatible with screen readers.
- 3.3.1: Error identification (level A)
- Error messages are not announced to screen readers
- 4.1.3: Status message (level AA)
- Screen readers do not announce dropdown options
- 3.3.2: Labels & instructions (level A)
- Unable to change astricks/error message colour (needed in situations where the form is in the foreground of certain background colours)
- 1.4.11:Non-text Contrast (Level AA)
- Error description should be descriptive, i.e., explaining what the user should enter
- 3.3.3: Error suggestion (level AA)
Could we have these issues reviewed?
