Domains

Hi guys, beginner-level web ops here, I thought I was doing the right thing and inadvertantly walked myself into a maze that I can’t get out of.

Situation: new asccount, Marketing Hub, allowing for 1 subdomain. I created a landing page, and was going to publish it when I noticed the default URL looking really poor. I initiated the steps to connect domains, both the root and the www. sub domain. I got halfway through when i got the message that continuing I would need to update my DNS records, and that by doing so all content on old host would be lost.

So my account looks like this:

I followed the HubSpot AI help to replace the primary domain, so that I could disconnect it and start again, but I now have this:

and the same domains listed above as half finished, needing to complete setup.

Where I want to go:

  1. Wind back the domain setup I initiated above for the root and the www. addresses
  2. Use the 1 subdomain my account allows to set up an ‘explore.rewiring’ or some other subdomain I can use to host landing pages/forms etc.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Hey @LMetherall - thanks so much for posting in the Community!
I’d like to tag in some domain experts to see what insight they may have for us!
@Humashankar, @SanjayKumar, and @karstenkoehler - any thoughts on next steps here?

Hi @LMetherall

You can try to check whether you can continue the setup for the root domain and the www subdomain.

If you only want to use the subdomain for landing pages and forms, you can connect it separately and assign it to the required content types.

Before making any changes, make sure the DNS records are correct with your domain provider. If the setup is still stuck, check the Actions menu for an option to continue or restart the connection.

I hope this helps you out. Please mark it as Solution Accepted and Like to help another Community member.

Thanks!
