Do not allow duplicate deal names

Hi,

We use deals as our go-to for workflows, zoom webinar attendance, reports - you name it; our deal names are = to the contact name.

We have noticed that if we create a new deal, be it from a form submission, a calendly link or a zoom registration, it is duplicating the deal name.

Can we have it so that:

a.)when creating a new deal it does not allow you to use that particular deal name?

b.)if the name pulls from say calendly or a zoom registration, that information is added (via a workflow) to the deal name as it has the same “record id”?

Thanks!

Hi @EAhm,

HubSpot has property validation features but they are limited to custom properties, not default properties:

Can you please elaborate how deals are named exactly? It sounds like you have a workflow set up for automatically creating deals. If that’s the case, can you please share a screenshot of that workflow? It might simply be a matter of adding a personalization token token to the deal name upon creation to make the deals easier to distinguish for you.

For example, if you have a contact-based workflow creating deals, simply include a personalization token for “Recent conversion” or “Latest source drill-down 2”.

Best regards!

Hey
We are trying to solve similar problem.
Basically we have 2 different workflows, which creates deal.
One is when a Inbound Demo form submission happens.
Second is when a Meeting type is created, the workflow will trigger to create deal.
The problem happens whenever someone submits form multiple times, duplicate deal is created.
We can ensure that the contact doesn’t reenroll, but is there a way where we can update, in the deal, whenever new form gets submitted?
