Difference in workflow enrolment criteria

Hello,

I want to create a Workflow that will enrol Contact records if either their email or mobile has changed in the last day. For custom objects or even the built in Deal/Company I have a option “{field} has been updated in the last {x} days”. However, for a Contact this option isn’t available.

Is this a platform limitation or a configuration somewhere?

---

I currently have this set up, doing the check in a later “if/then” step - but from my understanding this will enrol EVERY Contact if the Email or Mobile is known, which at this point is about 50k. Compared to a much lower number of records where these values would be changed.

Cheers

Hi @AJ_S,

If the workflow is scheduled to run every day, why don’t you enroll contacts by “Email has been updated in the last 1 day” or “Mobile phone number has been updated in the last 1 day”?

Best regards

Because that isn’t a option for the Contacts (not sure why) - which is the problem.

Hi @AJ_S,

Could you share some context why you want this workflow to run daily as opposed to whenever the email or mobile phone number changes?

Best regards

Hey @karstenkoehler

It doesn’t need to be, but if I, for example, create a blank workflow on a Contact and set up the trigger, I don’t get those options either.

Creating a new blank workflow on a Deal for example, presents me with a lot more options:

Hi @AJ_S,

If you want the workflow to run whenver the email or mobile phone number change, simply set the enrollment criteria to “Email is known OR Mobile phone number is known”, enable re-enrollment. That’s it.

When switching on the workflow, don’t enroll contacts who meet the criteria already.

From that point on, you’ll see contacts enroll where the values either change or become known for the first time.

Best regards
