Phone & Mobile Number should have a default data validation which ensures a clean database. My Phone Number fields in some contacts consist of email addresses or some random text, which is polluting my data. Having Data Validation will solve that issue.
Data validation is a very basic requirement & a market leader like Hubspot should have had it by default. It’s a shame I had to put this in the ideas forum.

A necessity.
This is a necessity! Having to do this manually hurts efficiency.
This feature is really important, especially in chatbot workflows. Hope Hubspot team is looking on to it.
In three years the only validation system is some thirdy part to be paid?

After spending so much time researching and designing our process of collecting consent and numbers for SMS, this is last thing we expected to have to deal with. With no way to require a specific format, mandating which field to SMS from but disabling reformatting to that property field, and no way to set a workflow to automate reformatting, our hands are tied and, to continue, we need to manually export, reformat in excel, and reimport the data.
