The ability to parse out, track and report on our different tasks is critical. Please enhance the platform to allow us to add/modify the task drop down options.

Just adding my vote to being able to create additional task types, this is the first CRM tool I have used in over 12 years that has not given me the ability to do this. Other CRM tools I have used a lot are Pipedrive, Capsule and Copper.
I must admit I thought the limitation was down to me being on the free plan, and having just upgraded to a paid plan I thought it might be available, but not to be … at the moment.
This is a little embarrassing that users have been asking for this simple feature since 2017 and yet no action from Hubspot at all.
Hello - adding my vote for this feature here. Simply the ability to add different task types will allow my team to organize/filter tasks much more efficiently.
This would be awesome. Being able to create Task Types such as LinkedIn Messaging, Website Updates, Prospect, or Post on Instagram would be nice. Instead of adding all that information in the task title.
Hubspot needs this ability. We need Social Media Message, SMS at the very least as options for task types so that we can use the report on task types per reps effectively.
We have a client that would love to customize task type by birthday and work anniversaries. Every year, they reach out to a contact on their birthday and, on their work anniversary, check LinkedIn to make sure that contact is still at the company before following up with them.
Any update on this valuable feature ?

I second this! Would be great if we could request this development as soon as possible 
bumping this as custom task types is a must. Prefferably with reporting options as well
Since I posted a request to this thread, we have also started recommending that our clients use queues. Some have been responsive and some have not. But it’s an option that you can report on.

Please add this functionality, we can already create custom Meeting Types, just use that same approach and apply it to Task Type.
@Gcone I’m not sure how hard this request is, but being able to set a task like - schedule a demo - based on a form fill. Or - follow up on chat - based on chatbot engagement. We have custom meeting types - I’m not sure why tasks would be different
Was litterally about to write this idea down too! Hope to see this in the near future.
