Custom Proposal Template User Prompts?

I’ve been working on a custom proposal template using the default one with the flow theme. The design manager seems to be working for me and I’m able to use the bult-in modules and other logic. All that said, I just realized that users will not be using the customization features each time they build a quote but instead will go through the “Create” flow. On the Quote Details screen they only have the option of adding text in Comments to buyer and Purchase terms. Is there no way to include my user prompts, image uploads and other customizations that I setup? It looks like they would have to Edit the Quote template for each new quote to add the relevant custom data specific to that quote and that wasn’t the intent.

@billsincco I have seen the same thing. The only way to get new data into the quote template when generating the quote is by using custom properties on either the deal or product objects.

Below is a video showing how I used a custom product property to add a rich text product description field.

You could do something similar with your proposals. Create rich text properties for various sections in your proposal. Then the quote creator would edit the product and enter the text.

Hi @Jake_Lett , I actually saw your video the other day and unfortunately it’s not quite what I need. I don’t care about adding to the pricing table but instead need to upload images of a project space and some other items that are project specific. I thought I had accomplished this when building my template but then realized the proposal workflow that’s salesperson facing doesn’t expose any of that work.

Well, the data doesn’t have to be placed inside a data table. In can be displayed in any way you like. It does require custom code but I have helped clients do exactly this. Once you add data to the deal or product object, you can grab it and use it in your layout. So you could have data for images, text areas, bullet lists, anything really. The only downside is it isn’t as intuitive as the comments to buyer boxes are.

If you want to see some examples of my custom work let me know.
