My main issue is I’m doing a test before sending an ordinary marketing email to a list of prospects. I have a CTA that basically contains an email adress in case they’d want to reply.
I used a colleague email adresses. One with the same domain as the company and an external one. It tracks that the email was opened but it doesn’t track my CTA even though my colleague clicked on both CTA and sent an answer through them.
Hi @KKabbaj and welcome, it’s a pleasure to have you here!
Thank you for reaching out to the HubSpot Community!
Can you please give us additional information so that we can help you the best we can:
1. Can you confirm that they are indeed CTAs? And not just hyperlinks in the marketing email?
2. Are you sending these marketing emails via HubSpot? Or via another tool?
3. Have you checked again to see if there is data on the CTA? Sometimes it can take up to 1 hour to show up.
4. Can you confirm if the CTA is added directly on the marketing email or is it on a page? If it’s a page, is it a HubSpot page or an external page?
For information, I’d like to share these resources:
- Why is there no data for the CTA (legacy) embedded on a WordPress page?
- Understand HubSpot email tracking and logging
- Analyze your calls-to-action (CTAs) performance
Also, I’d love to put you in touch with some of our Top Experts: Hi @Jnix284, @Alex_Elborn and @Crystal_Hopper do you have suggestions to help @KKabbaj, please?
Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for your help!
Best,
Bérangère
Thank you for your fast answers. I had looked into the subject in the meantime.
So I will answer in bullet points and include Crystal_Hopper’s question as number 5.
1. I just did a verification and I do think It was purely a hyperlink text; I assumed since I had a button of a hyperlink that I could insert ; It would be a CTA. Sorry about that
2. I’m sending it via hubspot
3. Since it was probably a hyperlink like seen on the screenshot, there isn’t gonna be a click rate stat
4. The hyperlink was in the email
5.As seen on the screen shot i’m using the menu email marketing for the stats
I assumed I had access to CTA functions with a sales licence but that will take a new license I presume.
While these should not disagree, I would want to see the raw click number before it becomes a percentage.
It is possible there is still a delay in the reporting a click.
I would also test that email by sending it to a very external set of inboxes. Like to your personal junk email and other trusted friends outside of work. Make sure you are off your company network (like at a coffee shop or at home), open the email and click the link inside. Make sure you are not within your company domain at all. Be as external as you can be to ensure HubSpot doesn’t ignore the click simply because it knows you are you, the author of the link and email.
Also, if you are opening this email on a Apple device you may not be seeing the click because of their enhanced privacy settings. You have to try on Windows, Android, Gmail and other such platforms to get the full experience.
CTAs are part of Marketing Hub, not Sales Hub, and should be available to everyone at all levels.
If you’re not seeing or able to access CTAs, it is possible to remove someone’s access to it. Perhaps check your user settings or request access from your account admin:
Some of things are assumptions about what you have and have not checked already. I listed them for the simple purpose of being very verbose for future readers of this thread. Please let us know if there’s something in here that is helpful or points you in the right direction. And if not, let us know that too, so we can keep digging.
Hi @KKabbaj! Hopefully you received Berangere’s note and are working on answering the questions she posed.
I would add a question about WHERE exactly you are looking to see the click being tracked. There are a few different places I could think of to check and they all seem to have various reporting timelines as Berangere suggested.
This being said, do you by chance have something else, like Google Analytics, setup on your website that might be seeing the click and logging it? I’m always curious about the reporting between various tools and this can be quite helpful in finding seemingly lost traffic.
Please give us a bit more context and we’ll be glad to help you.
