Hi there,
I’ve recently created a CTA button for our external website. It redirects/links to a CTA pop-up so we can get people to fill in a form before downloading content. But it doesn’t seem like the button is recording clicks? I’ve clicked it many times myself to test but nothing seems to be recorded in HubSpot.
We can track downloads via the form, but I just wanted to compare clicks on the button to actual downloads to see if the form is discouraging people to download. Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Emma,
A CTA button is the ideal way to achive this. It may be that something is setup wrong on your external website (without seeing it is hard to come to a conculsion).
Another way would be to use Hubspot events to achieve this (although it may be over complicated for something so simple)
Hey @EmmaMartins, thank you for posting in our Community!
Please, ensure that the HubSpot tracking code is correctly installed on the webpage with the CTA button. Without the tracking code, HubSpot won’t be able to record any interactions. Sometimes, custom JavaScript can interfere with HubSpot’s tracking. Use your browser’s developer tools to inspect the button and ensure that HubSpot’s click event listeners are correctly attached.
Thank you for helping @FarioConsulting.
Kindly,
