trying to get some help creating an API key to connect a custom salesforce. i am trying to use postman but not sure what my best options or steps are.if anyone has any tips or could offer some guidance itd be much appreciated.

API keys for HubSpot portals have been depreciated and can no longer be created. You’ll need to either create a Private App or create an App and set up OAuth to handle the Authorization.
