Creating a segment

Hi everyone,

I need some support please. I want to create a new segment that automatically contacts to go into the ‘list’.

I need the lead status to be ‘in a community’ - which I’ve set up and the source to be ‘in Facebook community’ - The AI bot is telling me it can be done but isn’t showing the same functions that I have.

Not to worry - I’ve done it!

Hi @SBailey99,
Thank you for posting to the Community!
Great to hear you got this resolved! If you’re open to it, feel free to share the steps you followed, your experience could be really helpful for other Community members facing similar issues.
Have a wonderful Monday!
Cassie, Community Manager

Hi @SBailey99, others can have the reference

  • Lead Status = “In a community”
  • Source = “In Facebook community”

Here’s how you can set this up: (Can be used for future references)

  1. Create an Active List
    • Go to Contacts > Lists in HubSpot.
    • Click Create list and choose Active list (so it updates automatically when contacts meet or no longer meet the criteria).
  2. Set Your Filters
  3. Add a filter for your Lead status property.
    • Choose “Lead status” → “is any of” → “In a community.”
  4. Add another filter for the property you’re using to track source.
    • If you’ve set up a custom property for this (e.g. “Source”), select it and set the filter to “is any of” → “In Facebook community.”
  5. Save the List
    • Name the list something like “Facebook Community Leads” and hit Save.
    • HubSpot will automatically add any contacts who match those criteria going forward.

Nice that you got it working, @SBailey99. For others running into the same case, active lists are the right path, you just need to make sure the properties “Lead Status” and “Source” are both contact properties (not one on the company object).

If your AI assistant didn’t show the same filters, it’s usually because it defaults to static lists or uses saved filters instead of properties. You can double-check which object a property belongs to under Settings > Data Management > Properties (Create and edit properties )

Once both properties are confirmed on the contact object, building an Active List will auto-populate and update as new leads meet those criteria (Create segments ). This keeps your “Facebook Community Leads” segment dynamic without manual clean

up. Hope this helps.
