Creating a landing page template using Canva

Hi, I am using canva to create landing page templates for some upcoming digital advertising campaigns. I have created the templates and embed them with a live link to my HubSpot account. I am now able to create landing pages with the template I created, but I cannot place additional content on top of the template in HubSpot. The template is basically a bakground with blank spaces for text and forms so I need to be able to place that content on top of the template. HubSpot is only allowing me to place it under the template. Are there settings I need to change or a different way of accessing the template to be able to place additional content on top of the template?

Hi @NTaylor68,

From my understanding of the integration, that’s not how it will work. Having blank sections on an image wouldn’t necessarily allow you to place an HTML element directly in a blank space. In theory you could use the image you generated as a background and hope that your on-page elements line up with the blank spaces on the image, but I would not advise that as it would change for difference screen sizes and resolutions.

My recommendation is to create smaller design elements in canva and then using a landing page template, use image modules to place those in the sections (or other modules that allow image files). You would accomplish the same (or better) end result but you wouldn’t be designing the whole landing page within the Canva platform.

Hi @NTaylor68,

Would you mind sharing the embed code with me as a direct message or via email (joshc@protocol80.com)?

Hi Josh, Thanks for commenting. I have actually created this file in canva as a website and have embedded the live code into HubSpot. So the template isn’t technically an image. Does this make a difference? If not, what is the best tool to help me create a template that I can upload to HubSpot?
