Create a task with sequence, connected to Transaction

Hi,

We are currently using Sequences, to send automatically emails, and create tasks, so that we know when to call the prospect.

While creating this task with the sequence, the task is connected to the contact, where we would like it to be connected to the transaction.

We have explored the following path, but no success :sad_but_relieved_face:

  • Configure the sequence so that the task is connected to the Transaction → it does not seem to be doable
  • Create a workflow to automatically connect a task without any transaction-connexion to the transaction of the contact

Any idea ?

Good news, there’s an update here.

What is it?

Tasks created by sequences will now automatically associate with contacts, companies, deals, and other objects — following the automatic activity association settings you’ve already configured in your account.

Why does it matter?

Previously, tasks created by sequences were only associated with the enrolled contact. This meant reps had to manually associate tasks with other records, creating extra friction and inconsistency.

How does it work?

Now, when a sequence creates a task, it will follow the same rules you’ve set under Settings > Objects > Activities > Associations. For example, if you’ve configured tasks logged on a contact to also associate with the primary company and most recently associated open deal, sequence-created tasks will do the same automatically.

What you need to do: No action required if you’re happy with your current automatic association settings — sequence tasks will simply start following them. To review or update your preferences, go to Settings > Objects > Activities > Associations. Learn more about this setting and how to configure it here.
