Associate Tasks from Sequences to Contacts, Leads and Companies

Tasks created from sequences on contacts are not automatically associated with any of the contact’s associated records, i.e. (associated companies).

Can you ensure that Tasks created automatically via sequences are associated with the Contact as well as with the Lead and Company linked to the Contact?

Thanks

Hi @Briag cc @CommunityTeam,

Good news, there’s an update here.

What is it?

Tasks created by sequences will now automatically associate with contacts, companies, deals, and other objects — following the automatic activity association settings you’ve already configured in your account.

Why does it matter?

Previously, tasks created by sequences were only associated with the enrolled contact. This meant reps had to manually associate tasks with other records, creating extra friction and inconsistency.

How does it work?

Now, when a sequence creates a task, it will follow the same rules you’ve set under Settings > Objects > Activities > Associations. For example, if you’ve configured tasks logged on a contact to also associate with the primary company and most recently associated open deal, sequence-created tasks will do the same automatically.

What you need to do: No action required if you’re happy with your current automatic association settings — sequence tasks will simply start following them. To review or update your preferences, go to Settings > Objects > Activities > Associations. Learn more about this setting and how to configure it here.

Who gets it?

Sales Hub Enterprise, Service Hub Enterprise, Sales Hub Professional, Service Hub Professional

Best regards!

This is a great update! Im sure they are still working on the company level view. I see a new “In Sequence” field has been generated on the company level and possible still being worked on to make more useful? Currently it appears to display the first sequence some contact was enrolled in at some point. A basic True/False would be more helpful to know if at least one contact is currently in a sequence on the company page.

Again - I understand this is a new roll out and expect to see this continue to get enhanced.

Thank you!!
