Hello everyone,
When a person changes a company, job title, email, or anything similar, does HubSpot changes automatically that contact and update it?
Thank you!
Hello everyone,
When a person changes a company, job title, email, or anything similar, does HubSpot changes automatically that contact and update it?
Thank you!
Hi @mila10,
No, HubSpot has no means of looking up this kind of information. If a contact submits a form with their new information, then yes, HubSpot will update the contact record based on the email address provided. The information has to come from the contact through form submission or from you or another system.
Best regards!
I understand. Thank you so much for the quick answer. And how contact information works? Is HubSpot adding data automatically, or only when we import contacts and data about that contacts like job title, department, and company…
I’m asking because we noticed that when adding a new contact to HubSpot, just by entering the domain data, HubSpot automatically fills in the other data, such as industry type, number of employees, revenue, etc.
Hi @mila10,
You’re referring to company records. There HubSpot has the so-called HubSpot insights: Get started with data enrichment
These don’t affect the contact record however.
Does that answer your question?
Best regards
Hi,
Yes, that’s clear.
And can we do the same for contact records? When we import only email addresses, will HubSpot match other information which is possible to find?
Thank you!
Hi @mila10,
Unfortunately not, no. You would have to check the HubSpot marketplace for third party apps that enrich contact records, e.g. Zoominfo.
Best regards!
I’m sorry, I have one more question about this topic.
And when someone visits our website, what information can we get from HubSpot? How can we track who visited our pages? Does it make a difference If we already have that contact in our CRM?
Hi @mila10,
No worries at all, happy to help ![]()
On this page you can find all default contact properties, including a short note on whether HubSpot populates it automatically or not: HubSpot's default contact properties
For example, HubSpot count how many marketing emails were delivered to a contact.
If you have the HubSpot tracking code installed or if you’re using the HubSpot CMS, HubSpot will also document website activity, correct. This is pushed into the contact record once a contact submits a website form. (That’s the moment when the tracked information can be associated with a contact record.)
Without the tracking code however, HubSpot is not able to associate website activity with records.
Best regards!
Hi,
Great!
Thank you very much. This answered my question and other doubts I had ![]()
All best!
Hello @mila10,
If you didn’t find a solution yet. You can do it with LeverGrow on the marketplace.
It tracks contacts and companies, alert you and update fields.
Best,
Kevin.
