I’m preparing to send out an email and currently have several different recipient lists. I’m not sure if there are any duplicate contacts across these lists.
If someone appears on more than one list, will they receive the email multiple times?

HubSpot will automatically deduplicate multiple lists when sending a marketing email. If a contact appears on multiple recipient lists that are added to one and the same marketing email, they will only receive the email once.

You can’t fully prevent a contact from being on multiple lists, but HubSpot does automatically merge duplicate contacts based on email address. If you want to clean things up, you can use filters to find overlaps or create an active list that excludes contacts already in another list. It also helps to regularly review your list criteria to avoid unintentional duplicates.
