We are trying to get zoom integrated with a user’s account on hubspot. The user is an admin in hubspot but we would like to limit their permissions in zoom. Is it possible for a non admin in zoom to connect? If so which privileges need to be enabled for this to take place? So far we have been unable to figure out what permissions could get this job done.

Unfortunately the short answer here is that HubSpot requires the connecting Zoom user to have admin permissions on the Zoom side. It’s listed as a requirement in the official docs (Connect HubSpot and Zoom). So a non admin Zoom user wont be able to complete the OAuth connection, which is probably why you’ve been hitting a wall.
One workaround that some teams use is having a Zoom admin do the initial connection in HubSpot, and then the day to day user just works within HubSpot normally without needing to touch Zoom settings again. The integration stays connected under the admin’s OAuth grant. If the concern is about that user having too much access inside Zoom itself, this approach keeps things separated since they never need to log into Zoom’s admin panel. LROADY in the older thread Victor linked also flagged that lacking full admin privileges broke the webinar sync specifically, so if webinars are part of your use case thats another reason to make sure the connected account has proper access (Use HubSpot and Zoom webinars).
We run into similar permission scoping questions at Stacksync when customers connect CRM tools and its always a trade off between least privilege and what the OAuth flow actually demands.
