Automatically add a note to a contact using Private Apps

Hi, I’m working with an external developer who is providing contact leads for a user, and I was wondering if their request was possible.

We’ve got it set up so that the usual fields are filled out when the contact is created (name, address, contact details, etc.), however there is a lot of other information on their form that the user wants adding into a note against the new contact.

Right now we have it feeding into the “Membership notes” property, which works well enough, but I was wondering if there was a way to automatically create an actual note instead, or is it a case that the contact needs to exist before a note can be created against them?

Hi @RoRulon

Yes, your developer can use the Engagements API to add a note to a Contact, Company, Deal or Ticket.

Have fun

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply, this was exactly what I needed. Didn’t realise it was a different endpoint, I’ll have a chat with the extern devs about how they can implement this.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! :slightly_smiling_face:
