If an object meets a workflow enrollment criteria but is currently enrolled in that workflow, the object will not be re-enrolled and there is no easy way of knowing this happened. Ideally there would be a simple way of enabling immediate re-enrollment in the workflow settings, and/or be able to set up notifications when this occurs.
Yes, I’d really like to at least know about when this happens or, ideally, configure some remedy behaviour, like re-enrollment as soon as the object completed the workflow.
For example, we have a workflow that syncs some deal data to an external system whenever changes happen. If now, someone does a change, notices an error, and does a second change, it may happen that the deal is still in the sync, but already sent some data, such that HubSpot and the external system are out of sync afterwards. If I could enqueue the deal to re-enrol after the completes the workflow, this would completely solve the issue.
We have another use cases, where mitigation is not that trivial: We use a workflow for workshop registrations. The workflow is triggered, when contacts submit any registration form. When a contact now submits a second registration form while still in the workflow triggered by the first submission (takes ~30s), the second registration is not processed. In fact, in the worst case, the contact gets half registered to the first and half to the second workshop, because we use some contact properties to store which event the contact registered to with the last form submission, but that’s another issue. In any case, it would help us to know when such conflicts happen, i.e., re-enrollment fails because the contact is already in the workflow, in order to manually clean this up.
