Just writing a long task and having to remember to autosave from tme to time. Its ludicrous this needs sorting
I know the holiday just ended, but I feel like this string is the land of misfit toys, and no one at hubspot listens to us…
how could autosave not be a feature? clicking save everytime is nuts. notion crushes this UX.
Do we have an update on this?
The lack of auto-save is ruining my life.
I’m considering leaving HubSpot if nothing is done about it.
Apparently there’s a Chrome extension (not official, I haven’t tried yet…) since a few weeks ago that might work - https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/autosave-–-for-hubspot/hnlnmnpgnpnnnmgemcgfpklcfcnaobmb
But it’s totally unacceptable on the part of HubSpot not to provide an Auto-Save option in 2024!!!
Especially since there’s no warning if you’ve been editing contacts for like half an hour!!! Everything’s lost if you forget to click on this ‘Save’ button that no other company than HubSpot is using!!!

The AutoSave extension has never collected and will never collect or save any data you have saved on Hubspot. When installing the extension, your browser notifies you that the extension can “read and change your data on all hubspot.com sites”, and “read your browser history”.
The reasons are:
- we need to be able to read the Hubspot website to detect the save button (“read data”)
- we need to be able to click the save button when it appears (“change data”)
- we need to be able to detect if you’re on hubspot.com to trigger the save button search (“read browser history”)

The issue is that my team is not comfortable with a third party chrome extension. The other issue is that they should fix this internally. Can someone from HubSpot jump into this thread and tell us why this isn’t an option?

YOU’RE THE ONLY COMPANY NOT IMPLEMENTING AUTO-SAVE THIS IS RIDICULOUS PLEASE FIX IT THANK YOU
The autosave release has been a travesty due to workflows and automations triggering based on the autosave of a property when the property isn’t completely filled out (think of multiline text properties). Most of the above solutions you have listed that include autosave don’t have downstream impact with automations, therefore autosave is not impactful on the business.
lol, Hubspot community autosaved the message I typed last time and did not submit. My main problem is the inconsistency. Some places it does automatically saves information, some places it doesn’t. This is the reason we, especially the older team members are losing data. Can anyone from the HubSpot give us an update on this?
@SKars @karstenkoehler could you kindly move this issue up the chain as I think it’s many people’s top priority right now.
Thanks a bunch!
So I’ve been using AutoSave - for HubSpot extension on Brave (Chrome) for a week, it’s working great.
Of course native Auto-save feature from HubSpot would be better, as I feel this is really weird that HubSpot is the only company not using Auto-save.
Also, it’s annoying from a UX standpoint that, after any field is saved (or auto-saved) on HubSpot:
- that the mouse stays in the last edited field, as in stuck (something that never occurs in modern day web apps, like Airbnb or whatever)
- that there’s a pop-up everything displaying “saved” in a very ugly way (nothing as such on Notion or any moden day web app)
Please answer about this request HubSpot support team, it’s been 4 years now.
Cheers.
This is a critical feature
I’ve read comments that it auto-saves in some places but not in others. Does anyone have a list of where it does auto-save?
OMG yes! I’ve lost data so many times I can’t count them. This is the only app I’m aware of that prompts you to save changes, but won’t alert you when you’re going to close a record without saving. Crazy.
Yes - a simple prompt would save a lot of pain. It exists in the CMS… I just lost notes from my last meeting. This ticket tracker even has autosave!
we are now pushing 5 years since this was submitted, with 56 upvotes, no reply at all @hubspot !! Please save us, and our teams from having to re-type anything we accidentally back out of in any record!
Low expectations are your key to happiness!
@hubspot - You guys are worthless.
Great News everyone this is actually now in BETA. Check it out.
What is it?
HubSpot now automatically saves property edits made on the CRM index page.
Why does it matter?
This feature streamlines data entry by reducing clicks and automatically saving information, increasing efficiency and minimizing data loss for CRM users.
How does it work?
When users edit properties on the index page, they no longer need to click ‘Save’. Instead, they’ll see a ‘Save’ status notification at the bottom-left of the screen, indicating when changes are saved.
If you need to undo a property edit, you can click ‘undo’ within the save status component. You can undo your most recent change.
Who gets it?
All Hubs and Editions
I love that we have this feature now, One bit of feedback from my team is that whenever they are working their call lists from the contacts page, when they make a change it refreshes pretty fast. So when the update lead status it will be removed from the page all together very fast and there is other things they want to change. I also had a issue where I was changing the contact owner for several contacts and since it was refreshing so fast, I would start typing the name of the owner and then it would refresh from the last change I made and undo my typing. So I had to either wait for the last change to refresh before starting the next one or select the right person super fast before it refreshed.
