đź’ˇAuto-Save Changes for Objects

Hi fellow HubSpotters!

We NEED an option to live-save ANY changes we make in Objects (such as updating properties in contacts, deals, companies, etc…).
I’m sure we’ve been there whereby we forget to hit that save button. This would be a HUGE time-saver as we are updating records and doing a bunch of other functions.
If other cloud-based SaaS can save as we type, HubSpot should too!
Please upvote! Thanks!

I’ve heard multiple complaints from colleagues (and read multiple complaints on here) about the functionality (or lack thereof) of the save button when updating Contact/Company/Deal records.

It’d be great to get rid of the save button for making updates to records and just have Hubspot auto-save your progress as you go.

Auto-save is a mess! Sometimes it auto-saves, other times you need to save it manually. It’s super inconsistent and can - and has- created issues.

1000% agree with this! It is VERY ANNOYING when you leave the screen thinking your changes are auto-saved, only to find out you had to click the TINY button at the bottom EVERY TIME.
C’mon hubspot, come out with a beta for this already!

I’m supporting my organization in migrating to HubSpot from another CRM. We utilize properties to structure details about the deals and tickets.

My team, having come from other solutions that auto-save updates, would love HubSpot when editing property details to auto-save and not require the user to hit the save button.

This is a must needed change. Having to click “save” every time you make an update defeats the purpose of quickly being able to make efficient updates.

:waving_hand:Hi all! I’m Rachel from the HubSpot product team. An update for you - autosave for properties is in public beta on the CRM index page (product update).

We also plan to roll out the autosave pattern on the CRM record page. Thanks for your feedback!

This comes up a lot in my leads review meeting with the sales team. They update properties such as contact owner, lead status, etc but forget to hit save. An auto save feature on properties would be helpful!

When I update the lead Status from New to Open I have to click save.. It’s kinda strange to me and would be nice if it just auto saved. I have a sales rep who prefers google sheets because it’s faster which I can’t disagree with him on.

I’m shocked that in 2024 when EVERY other SaaS products auto-saves I have to look for a tiny “save changes” button and not get warned when I try to navigate way from a page where I’ve made changes. Lots of work lost. BTW, even this form for giving you feedback “autosaves”. Look below.

Hi @rwebb1,
I have a non-tech savvy team and in both the app and on the desktop, I foresee having issues with my users updating properties by mistake and either not realizing, or not understanding how to undo their change.
As an HS admin and chronically online person, I understand that there is a small and quick popup that allows me the option to undo my action. I also understand that I can view property history and revert the change manually, if needed. My team, however, consists of people who regularly call me to ask their passwords or where their contact record “went,” so they aren’t going to be picking through property history when they mess up. I have also already encountered situations where the popups “closed too quickly,” so I don’t imagine things will be different for them with this.

I appreciate an autosave feature and the need for it, but I would like to have an option of whether of not to use this feature if it is going to continue to function as it does now. My team will not benefit from this and, as such, would like to opt-out of usage. This does not currently seem to be possible.
Otherwise, I can see the feature being helpful if it functioned similarly to forms or emails and had an autosave with a final “publish”-like confirmation button. Until that update comes, this feature is more harmful than helpful for my particular team and I would appreciate the ability to not use it for now.
