Yeah looks like its not “saving” but retaining the infromation. Better than it was.
I am constantly forgetting to save as just moved over from Pipeline Deals and you never had to save.
Any update on this? 3 years since first post. Looks like an autosave on this but not in the actual platform…
Shocking that this does not exist IMO
I’m baffled that this isn’t a QOL basic for HubSpot. +1 for this - I keep wasting time re-typing notes/fields and am left feeling unsure if my last updates saved, especially if I’m working on several opps concurrently.
Hubspot team,
There are multiple ideas/requests for this feature (auto save half written emails and notes) and for many years. Combine the upvotes/results and see that this is needed and should move to top.
WHY has this not been moved to the top? Please either auto save notes and emails or prompt us to save “before we go”! HELPPPPP.
If you aren’t going to consider this idea, at least say so OR please tell us when we can expect it!
THANK YOU
Unbelievable the notes I’ve lost due to this issue.
Hours of progress destroyed from not having this feature. Why make is so easy to take such great notes, and then SO EASY TO LOSE THEM. At least set the tab to not close so easily, other sites say “are you sure you want to leave this tab, something is open”
+1 to this. Just lost my notes as I had the same page open in two tabs without realising, saved one of them before closing them both, but it was the wrong tab. Data is gone
This doesn’t make sense. This issue has been talked about, asked about and
frustrations sent in about for a long time. I don’t understand why the auto
save on notes is still not there yet now when you input any information on
the left hand side, contact info, address etc. that auto saves. Important
there too, but really what is the deal!!
Hello,
Exactly. Hubspot won’t take action unless there are a certain number of requests. Shocking to me as there are other posts about this besides mine, which are worded differently. Add them all up, and you have a real need to make the improvement!
Thanks for commenting.

I commented on this more than 4 years ago, and left the “email me when someone replies” ticked. So every month or two, I have to laugh as I get a reminder that this is still not implemented.
Honestly, it’s far from the biggest deal, but it’s kind of a microcosm of why we’re planning a migration away from Hubspot and to a more specialized stack of a few separate tools. Kind of makes me think of ol SAP systems from back in the day: enterprise-y, everything you could ever possibly want and tons of things you don’t all in one place, but with the downside of being clunky, unwieldy, and taking your user-base for granted.
To be clear, we’re not leaving because of the lack of this feature. We’re leaving becasue we’re tired of dealing with the kind of company that would manage to lack this feature for 4+ years.
I totally agree. I am part of a Franchise so have no choice in the matter to leave. I just have to keep pushing them! I don’t give up easy. Good luck!
Need this feature 4 years ago please!
I have just noticed this past week that the “Note” is being auto saved as you type. So, looks like they addressed it. We continue to add to the original note, over time and it does not save anything but the original note.
+1. So easy to lose notes
I absolutely agree. My sales team reached out to me and asked if we could auto-save the notes instead of hitting create. They have lost many notes because they had to jump tabs, hop on a meeting, or other priorities that pulled them away from finishing that note and hitting “Create Note.” They lose all the hard info they found.
So much properties autosave on Hubspot now, please do this on notes as well, the minute you start typing in one, it shoul start saving.
Hi everyone,
This is Winnie Hien, Product Manager in the CRM at HubSpot. Thanks for sharing the feedback! The frustration is heard. You take the time to type out the note for yourself or a colleague, get interrupted, come back and it’s gone.
We don’t have full autosave just yet, but we do have something that should help: draft stages for edits, which rolled out within the last couple of weeks as part of the Activity Timeline update.
Now, if you’re editing a note or comment and navigate away or refresh before hitting Save, your changes will be preserved as a draft. You won’t lose what you typed. You’ll just need to take that final step of clicking Save or Update to post it. Draft stages on creating a new note have been around for about two years. What’s new is that this now extends to edits and comment replies as well.
Here’s a quick loom showing how drafts work.

Full autosave is something we’re actively thinking through. Our current thinking is that it makes the most sense for edits once something already exists, while creation would still require an intentional first click — but we’re still working out the details.
Please let me know how this lands. If draft stages solve the problem, great! If autosave is really what you need, drop a comment or DM me and tell me why drafts don’t quite get there. That context will directly shape what we build next.
Thanks, Winnie
P.S. @UserLD, you mentioned “Another idea would be the capability to collaborate with your team in real time. Similar to Google Docs. A guy can dream.”, tell me more! We’re exploring the idea of collaboration and I’d like to learn more from you or anyone else with thoughts here.

Does this work with Internal Notes in a meeting as well as that is where I lose most of my content to having to remember to ‘save’?
