Hi everyone,
This is Winnie Hien, Product Manager in the CRM at HubSpot. Thanks for sharing the feedback! The frustration is heard. You take the time to type out the note for yourself or a colleague, get interrupted, come back and it’s gone.
We don’t have full autosave just yet, but we do have something that should help: draft stages for edits, which rolled out within the last couple of weeks as part of the Activity Timeline update.
Now, if you’re editing a note or comment and navigate away or refresh before hitting Save, your changes will be preserved as a draft. You won’t lose what you typed. You’ll just need to take that final step of clicking Save or Update to post it. Draft stages on creating a new note have been around for about two years. What’s new is that this now extends to edits and comment replies as well.
Here’s a quick loom showing how drafts work.

Full autosave is something we’re actively thinking through. Our current thinking is that it makes the most sense for edits once something already exists, while creation would still require an intentional first click — but we’re still working out the details.
Please let me know how this lands. If draft stages solve the problem, great! If autosave is really what you need, drop a comment or DM me and tell me why drafts don’t quite get there. That context will directly shape what we build next.
Thanks, Winnie
P.S. @UserLD, you mentioned “Another idea would be the capability to collaborate with your team in real time. Similar to Google Docs. A guy can dream.”, tell me more! We’re exploring the idea of collaboration and I’d like to learn more from you or anyone else with thoughts here.
