is there a limit to how many private apps can be created on professional tier accounts? i only see limits placed on legacy private apps, but nothing about the newest version. thanks
Hey @humanroach,
Thanks for posting in the Community!
In confirming what you initially found, you can create up to 20 private apps in your HubSpot account (see here). While we don’t have similar information outlined in our new Developer platform documentation, I did come across this Community post, which seems to provide us some context. It reads:
"On September 3rd, 2025, HubSpot launched the new Developer Platform, version 2025.2, which introduced new customer install limits for marketplace distribution apps that are specifically created or migrated to the latest Developer Platform.
Starting on September 22nd, 2025, apps that are created or migrated to version 2025.2 are capped at 25 installs until they are listed on the HubSpot Marketplace. Alternatively, app partners can distribute apps privately via OAuth to up to 10 customers or 100 for Solution Partners."
I hope this helps!

As far as I know, there isn’t a strict published limit on the number of new-style custom/private apps on professional accounts anymore. The old “legacy private apps” had clearer caps, but those were deprecated and replaced with custom apps.
Hi @humanroach
I hope you are doing well.
The 20-app limit applies only to legacy private apps. For private apps created on HubSpot’s newer Developer Platform (2025.2/2026.03), HubSpot does not currently document a specific limit on the number of private apps. Instead, usage is governed by the account’s shared API rate limits, which for Professional accounts are 190 requests per 10 seconds per app and 625,000 requests per day across the account.
