annoying error creating an app

I’m trying to login on developers.hubspot.com to create an app there.
I can loggin, then I click to create an app, I define the scops and add the redirect URL, then when I click to create an app it log me off, and I recieve an email saying that my account was deactivated. I click on the email to verify my identity, and it says that I already have an account, and it asks me to loggin again, I log in, then I try to create an app, and same thing happens… I’m stucked on this annoying looping.
Does anyone knows how to fix that?
I already tried in another browser and it didn’t work
I will really appreciate any help here

THank you very much

Hi @JazzWeb ,
The issue you’re facing, getting logged out during app creation and receiving a deactivation email, typically points to an account verification or security flag on HubSpot’s side, especially when it happens repeatedly like this.

Just to confirm - was your HubSpot account created using Google login with a personal email, or did you sign up with a business email directly?

If you used Google login, here are a few things you can try:

1. Update Your Profile Info - Go to your Profile & Preferences and make sure your first and last name are filled in. Accounts created with Google sometimes skip this, and missing info can cause problems when creating apps or developer accounts.

2. Try Email/Password Login Instead - Since you’ve already tried different browsers and clearing cookies, try creating a new developer account using the email/password method instead of Google login. Use a business email if you can, this tends to work better for developer tools. Make sure you’re set as a Super Admin in your HubSpot developer account, as missing permissions can block you from creating or managing apps.

If none of the above helps, the issue may be deeper on HubSpot’s end.

Since you’re likely on a free account, you can’t reach support directly, but you can fill out the form at the bottom of this page to request help: Log in to HubSpot

Someone from the HubSpot team will get in touch and help resolve the issue.

Hope this gets you unstuck soon! Let us know how it goes.

Hello Arisudan, I hope you are are well!

Thanks for your help with this matter!

I have signed up with a business email directly.

My user is super admin and I have filled up my name and last name.
I will try to contact them as you mentioned.
If you know any other things that might worth trying to check or change, I’d love to hear.

Kind regards

Hi @JazzWeb ,

If you’re still running into the same issue, I’d suggest trying to create a new developer account and testing from there. Sometimes that helps rule out account-specific glitches.

If that doesn’t solve it, reaching out to HubSpot Support would be the best next step.

Also tagging a few community managers here who might be able to assist further:
@BérangèreL , @DianaGomez and @Victor_Becerra .
Hope this gets sorted soon!

Hello Arisudan, thanks again for your help with this!

I will try to create another developer account there then!

Is it possible to link a developer account with another email to my existing account?
Thank you very much!
Kind regards!

You could always add your second email address as another Super Admin as a workaround. — Jaycee

Hello Jaycee, Thanks for your help here!
I will try that as well! Thanks for helping.

All the best! :slightly_smiling_face:

I have a dev test account that I use for endpoint testing to help here in the community. I added my personal email address as an admin and second user, just as a failsafe so that I can keep access.

This is also a good idea for the app developer account because I’ve seen situations where a dev was the only super admin and time passes and the owning company doesn’t have access to the admin because of this. And then they have to track down the dev and try to regain an admin seat, and it’s just a giant pain in the :peach: — Jaycee

Hello everyone, I’d like to thank you everyone that helped me here, I really appreciate that!

The thing is that I tried from a friend computer and from there it showed me a QR to verify the account, which I didn’t see on my computer.
But now i’m facing another error.
I have created an app there because I will need to use a trigger on n8n when a deal is created.
On n8n I have configured the credentials, but I have an error when conecting the account. This is the error:
Couldn’t complete the connection
Authorization failed because the provided scopes are insufficient. Please contact the app developer.

I have more than 2 dev accounts, because I tried to create again to access.
So, I have 2 questions:
1- Why does it says that the Authorization failed because the provided scopes are insufficient. (What scopes do I need?)
2- Where can I see all dev accounts I have linked to my account and how I delete it?
Many thanks!! :slightly_smiling_face:
All the best
