I have a simple CTA that captures an email address in hubspot before redirecting to the signup page of my application. I need to pass the email address as a URL parameter so I know who the user is when they reach my app. Otherwise, they have to enter it again and the signup feels broken.
example: redirect to https://myapp.test/signup?email=<users email>
Unfortunetly, this simple task requires custom javascript at the page level. This means I have to check that the page has the correct javascript before I can use the CTA! As a software engineer, I see a lot of maintenance problems with a solution like this. And as a software engineer, marketing has to pull me in to create solutions for things like this. I’d love to see this feature where non-technical people can pass url params, or if nothing else, I could tie custom javascript directly to the CTA so it is self contained.
If I’m wrong and better solutions exist, please let me know!
Thanks hubspot team. Customer service was 1st class as always.

Looks like this has been an issue for 8 years. Here’s an old and active thread in the community forum about it.
