I believe the strings in the calculation properties do not support line breaks, but you can make this work with a workflow. If you create a multi-line text or rich text property for the result of concatenation, all you have to do is set up an “Edit Record” action in a workflow to edit this resulting property and set a value using your other multi-line text properties and optionally adding some other text if necessary.
If you use a Rich text property, you can also use HTML tags to format the resulting output.
Thank you very much, EugeneAtKiwi, for proposing a solution to my problem. I am sorry that it took so long to come back to you. I have been very busy over the last few weeks.
I tried your solution, but I am now facing another problem:
Due to a multi-text property not being a calculation, I cannot exclude a text field from the roll-up multi-text property if the text field has no value. If several text fields are empty, I end up with several blank lines. Is there a way to exclude text fields that are empty with your solution?
Hey @RRoques ,
Well, you could use IF-branches, but covering all possible combinations of empty/non-empty properties would require an insanely huge workflow in this case. A quick fix would be to add some delimiters to better indicate missing values.
So instead of having something like this in workflow:
[property_name_1]
[property_name_2]
You’d have something like this:
Q1: [property_name_1]
Q2: [property_name_2]
Then it will result in something like:
Q1: Here’s some text
Q2:
For a more solid solution, you’d need Data Hub Pro or higher to use the Format Data action in Custom Mode to use concat function
