Suggestion to add ‘Conditional Options’ to HubSpot User properties so that we can use the value selected in a controlling property to determine who from our total list of HubSpot users is eligible to be assigned to the deal.
Simple Example. We have 5 x BDMs for a specific Deal pipeline. When selecting an owner of the object record in that pipeline, we’d like to restrict the list to HubSpot users who c
Of course you know already it is not a feature yet.
But, because deal owner are not changing everyday, you can do this work arround:
- You create a dropdown select property with the name of all your use case (like : TEAM BDM, or PIPELINE BDM, ..)
- You create a dropdown select property in the deal object for each of you pipeline (or case) with your selected Deal owners (like the 5 BDM)
- You create a conditionnal rule based on the first property saying if we choose property 1 then property 2 is displayed
- You create a workflow that select regarding the value of this property the corresponding deal owner (it is a simple workflow but wit a lot of branch => 1 by owner)

I don’t say it is perfect but it works … I hope you find it useful ![]()

Thanks for the suggestion @Jim_from_Charik . We’ve done something similar as a workaround in the past. Yes, not perfect and does work.
My suggestion was made to ensure we have the option to avoid having to put in a workaround like this. If the suggestion was implemented by HubSpot we wouldn’t need to create and maintain additional custom properties and wouldn’t needd to create and maintain extra workflows.
I appreciate the time take to make your suggestion though. Hopefully others in the community will find some benefit from your workaround.

Joel
