Getting more extensive reporting on PDFs

Hi! Is there any way to get more extensive reporting on PDFs hosted on HubSpot?

We currently host our eBooks and whitepapers as PDFs on HubSpot. However, HubSpot gives fairly little information on how leads interact with these files. To make the reporting a little bit more thorough, I started embedding them as full-page iframes on separate landing pages. This does give a little bit more info, such as bounce rate and time per page view, but it still leaves out crucial information such as scroll percentage. Hotjar is no help here as they don't track iframe data.

Is there any other way to get more metrics, other than using an external source for hosting content?

Hi @NKolenberg

You can use UTMs or HubSpot Custom Events (Marketing Hub Enterprise feature) to track the click, visit or download to/of a PDF asset. In order to collect even more data you would need to host your PDF content in an external platform to be able to obtain engagement data, and integrate that platform with HubSpot if you wanted contact-level data.

You can try to use Sharekits from marketplace store.

Hello everyone.  I'm trying to do the same thing... we have a lot of PDFs hosted in the Files section of HubSpot CMS.  We wish to track downloads/views across time and geographic region, similar to Web Pages.

Can anyone please provide more detail on the above?  UTMs or HubSpot Custom Events (Marketing Hub Enterprise feature)....

Thank you.

I would like to tag some of our experts into this @Bryantworks@StjepanGrcic and @Drew_Cohen. Would you be able to give any advice to @NKolenberg on the possibility of in-depth reporting on PDFs.
