It would be great to associate Activities with Custom Objects. For example, if we send an email to a contact associated with a custom object - we aren't able to view within a custom object which emails have been sent to individuals associated with the project. We can do this for Standard Objects. It would be incredibly helpful to do this with custom objects.
We use custom objects as parent and grandparent and great-grandparent organisations so being able to see the activity of contacts as a single entity or as a collective across a whole organisation would be incredibly useful. At the moment, we can manually associate conversations, activities etc across these, but having the ability for this to happen across custom objects too would be great.
Also, if custom objects could be switched to act like companies would be helpful. i.e. so company insights pulled into a custom object, domains could be used to stop duplications.
We work with multi-level organisations so this is essential.
We created a custom object called Lead. We did this because even though HubSpot has a lead "property" it is on the HubSpot Contact record which is not sufficient. We would like the ability to have our custom Lead object activities (e.g. email) automatically appear on the Company record that the lead corresponds to without requiring a manual "association" step which is easily forgotten by the end user.
In the same way that an email sent to a Contact (from the standard HubSpot Contact record) is by default also logged on the Company record, so too should an email sent from our custom Lead object record also be automatically associated with the Company record.
We too, as the prior responder, see this functionality as essential for any HubSpot customer working with medium to large enterprises. In these cases leads should not be viewed as being tied to individuals, they should be viewed as opportunities to solve problems and transact business with a Company. As such, those activities should be associated with the Company by default so they are not forgotten or lost.
We use 'Contracts' as a Custom Object for Companies that have multiple contracts and projects running concurrently. It would be great to be able to see the Custom Objects in the Associations drop down list in GMail.
Same here! This is a big problem for us as we use Custom Object to track member activity ! We would love to associate this with the marketing emails they receive.
This is a problem for us right now because we need to use a custom object to avoid deduplications in the company object since we work with franchises with multiple locations, so managing and avoiding duplicate records is just impossible in the company object and we need to report ALOT on activities, however this and many other functionalities such as calling are missing from custom objects, I'd love to see this figured out ASAP, custom objects should be able to operate to the same capacity as a default object
we use this to create projects as they have several parts that we want to have managed from a single pain of glass. Not being able to sync the notes/activites from the tickets to the project is making Hubspot really hard to use for our futurestate
This would be a huge win for a lot of people. It seems like basic functionality that is missing from the platform, especially when logging emails and meetings from the google integration. The activity is already being logged to the contact record, it shouldn't be hard to port that over to an associated custom object.
Super exciting that we can control default association behavior inside of HubSpot. However, what we really need is the ability to control that logic within the Outlook Sales extension for custom objects. Hopeful that that will be addressed soon!
