Multiple Deals without Inflating Reports

Hi there,

I’m looking to understand best practice when I have multiple deals across different pipelines.

For context; I have two pipelines:

1. Orders - For orders placed on the website and do not involve the sales team.

2. Quotes - This is where customers have reached out and requested a custom quote. This pipeline is used for giving transparency to the sales team and running workflows (i.e. creating tasks if it’s a high value quote and not yet been converted). This doesn’t use the native HubSpot Quotes functionality and instead can be thought of as a seperate e-commerce cart.

My issue is that a quote will be converted to an order. Thus there will be two deals; one Quote Deal in Won stage, and one Order in the Won stage. However, this will naturally cause the Revenue reports to be inflated.

I’m wondering what the best practice is here since the two pipelines are essential. I know I can apply filtering to all my reports to only consider the Orders pipeline, however I’m not sure if Goals can then be used effectively and unsure how it will affect attribution.

Any advice would be welcome.

Hi @StevenHammond ,

You should be able to do this with no problem at all.

As you note, you can filter your reports by pipeline. You can also filter your goals by pipeline, even in SalesHub Starter. In the performance section, you can choose which pipeline to measure your goals against here:

Attribution Reports can also be filtered by pipeline by clicking Add Filter in the Left Sidebar of attribution reports here:

The same is true with Sales Analytics reporting, except that the filters are in the right sidebar. You can also apply these filters to attribution on your page analytics for blogs and landing pages. So, it is a little of extra set-up time, but completely do-able!

Hope this helps!
