Zapier update without changing email

I need to send data to HubSpot via Zapier’s “create / update contact” action. Which requires the email address field to be used. However, the data being sent has an incorrect email address against the contact and I want to preserve the hubspot email address from being overwritten. I have another unique identifier field which will match the contacts together correctly. How can I prevent the email address that’s coming in via Zapier from overwriting the email address already stored in HubSpot for the contact?

Does the Zap you have created only update existing contacts? If yes, you could try using the“Update Contact” action instead of “Create / Update Contact”, as described in this Community post.
