I’m creating a workflow to assign contacts as an MAL or an MQL. Our MAL means any one who has engaged with at least 1 marketing form and doesn’t fit our ICP; MQL = 1 form or many forms and is in our ICP.
We use forms across all departments and keep making more so the upkeep of updating the workflows to any new form we create will be unmanageable. I can’t see a way to filter by a naming convention (I thought their was!) or a form folder type. Does anyone have any suggestions to ensure I’m only enrolling contacts and assigning them as MALs and MQLs IF they engage with a content or marketing form? Should I use only 1 form across all content?
Hi @GTorres-Soler8,
This is typically best solved with a hidden field on forms. I for one am a big proponent of a “Conversion type” hidden field on each form which labels an incoming submission as content download, event registration, contact form, demo request etc. While it’s not always needed, it comes in very handy if you want to notify someone just about event registrations, if you want to send a specific follow-up email for all demo requests etc.
The same method could be applied in your case. Simply add a hidden field to your form, select a default value for it in the forms editor, and have a workflow pick up all contacts where this hidden field is checked or selected. That way, you don’t have to rely on a form naming convention (“Recent conversion contains any of…”) and you can reliably pull in all contacts coming from such forms without having to name each and every form.
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
