Workflow -> Create Company -> WebHook

Dear Community,

how do I trigger a webhook once a new customer has been added or an existing has been modified? Is there a way to trigger those customer-events via a workflow?

Thanks a lot!

Hi @GBeister,

I’d recommend checking out this article, it runs through the different ways of using webhooks within HubSpot and also this video which provides a practical run through of how they work. In short though, you have 2 options to consider…

Option 1: Webhooks API - This is available for all hubs free right up to enterprise. Using the API you can subscribe to various events happening within the CRM. For instance if a Contact is created/deleted or if particular properties are updated. HubSpot will send a webhook containing information relating to the change so you can consume as needed.

Option 2: Trigger webhooks from workflows - This is available for Operations Hub Professional/Enterprise hubs only. It allows you to use a webhook GET or POST as a step in the workflow.

Option 2 is a little bit more flexible as it’s easier to setup, you don’t need to create an app and install it. You also have more flexibility in terms of what triggers the webhook and you can customise the payload HubSpot sends your endpoint.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

thanks! I can go for option 2 as my account is enterprise hub, but I do not know which trigger to use. There is nothing like “trigger once new company has been created”. There are company related things I can check for in order to trigger a webhook, but e.g. when using creation date doesn’t give my something like “now”…any hints?

Thanks!

Hey @GBeister check out the below as an example:

1: Trigger webhook anytime a company is created - All objects will have a create date if they exist in the CRM so this criteria will be true and workflow will enroll the record.

2: Trigger a webhook anytime a company is updated (in this case I am doing it using last contacted property which will update anytime a call, email or meeting is logged)

For example 2 you’ll also need to ensure you setup the workflows to allow for re-enrollment. This means anytime a change happens the company is enrolled and the webhook will fire.

thanks a lot! This helped!
