Great idea. Our use case is that we have forms with text fields and that we would like to create a workflow that copies the value of that field into a note so the information shows as a timely context in the Activity stream rather than showing another extra static contact property.
Any update to this? This would be a really nice feature to have.
Agreed. We use forms on our website to pull in customer requests. Those form then create a deal via workflow. I have to create another workflow to then copy those properties that were updated in the form to properties in the deal so sales doesn’t have to switch back and forth. It works but creates extra worksflows and properties that aren’t really needed. It would be wonderful to just have them copy over to a note versus multiple fields.
Would be really useful for us.
Great idea and would help simplify a lot.
We use workflows to automate many tasks we would normally be manually managing. I would like the ability to use workflows to “Create Note” on a Contact and/or Company record.
Example 1: Following a training, we provide our clients incentives. Currently our team manually adds a Note to the contact record of the individual who attended and also associates it with the company record of that individual. The note is the same for every individual that attends, but the incentive differs depending on the training. This helps our sales and support teams know exactly what was offered and when the incentive expires.
Example 2: Occassionally we use workflows to fix/update/change properties as we improve our internal processes. For these situations, it would be helpful to include a generalized Note on either the Contact or Company record explaining why the record/property was changed. Especially since we typically delete the workflow after the updates have been made.
We use Intercom for in-app messaging and chat since Hubspot doesn’t offer this (yet)… We also have our own internal system for managing customers. When we email customers via Hubspot, I use a workflow with a webhook to log a record in our system. This way, our system sees all Hubspot messages.
What I want to have is a way to do the same thing but add Intercom Messages to the contact timeline in Hubspot. The closest thing I can do today is to create a “completed task”, but this really isn’t the best way to do it. A simple workflow option for “message” or “note” that gets added to timeline would be ideal.
This could also be used to log customer chats and other messages from all sorts of 3rd party tools.
Heavy necro incoming.
This feature would be amazing to have, I need to log data sent via enternal sources and I rather create a note on the timeline rather than a task assigned to no one.

Sometimes a task might not be the best way to remind a colleague of something. A note might be the best solution here.
For example, if a client hasn’t spent in 6 months, add a note to the client’s timeline.

This woud be very helpful since we use a different live chat sytem. Seeing the chat transcript for an existing customer in the timeline would be very helpful for our sales team.
This would be so helpful, just to keep a record of something in the client’s portfolio without using a property to keep track of it. Hoping this will be implemented in the future!

Yes please - would be very useful for our internal comms
We need to copy any properties into the “Notes” feature of the tool using workflows.
Yes, and this feature would be even more useful if the worfklow could pin the note to the top of the record (and to associated records).
While plenty of data is and should be captured in Properties, sometimes important details can get lost in a sea of properties in the sidebars, especially due to limitations around conditional sections -- see idea to enhance Conditional Sections here. This makes calling out important information or alerts about the record using a pinned note even more important, and it would be helpful to be able to do this in mass and automatically with workflows.
Use Case: Automating notes to serve as alerts at the top of associated records, using a workflow that’s triggered by property values in associated records. (For example, if the Customer Success team creates a Ticket that indicates the Customer should not be Contacted right now (maybe they are at risk, or the team is resolving an issue), then a workflow could pin a note as an alert to the top of the associated Company/Deal/Contacts records.
Hi all, consider using snippets instead of automatically adding notes through workflows. We have found the snippet functionality in Hubspot very usefull as you can quick request the “note template” that you desire with a small “#”-hashtag.
Hope it solves some of your issues.
Huge supporter of this idea!
We are going through a process update and would like to leave a disclaimer/reminder on all of our deals. A task is not appropriate here as the update is not time sensitve, nor does it make sense to have a number of incomplete tasks waiting to be completed. Rather, a reminder pinned to the top of a deal with information to remember.
Love the use case from @amandafann as well.
