Where is the file manager

I am absolutely frustrated with the recent changes. The file manager is gone. Asking the HubBot he provides some old information like the link https://app.hubspot.com/files to the file manager, which doesn’t work anymore. The previos menu location in Content or Marketing is also gone.

If I use the Documents in Sales and choose “Add existing files” then I can see my old uploads (PDF), but I can no longer manage them.

How can Hubspot delete such an important feature? Please be more careful with updates, the recent changes do not improve usability, they cause extreme frustration. Now working hours to fix this problem, but no chance. All the knowledge base information is invalid, the menues are gone.

Where is the file manager now?

Hey @05718 , File Manager was never removed. You can find it in the Content > Files
If you prefer a link then https://app.hubspot.com/files/portalId ← change the portalId to your portal Id
Or you can just search “Files” in the HubSpot search box.

The link with the portal ID did work, I can see my files. Great. But this page is not reachable from the menue and is not shown in global search. It is a bug and should be reported to Hubspot somehow.

Hi @05718,

You can find it under Content > Files or just type “Files” in the global search bar.

HubSpot’s “Files” is the main place to manage and replace uploads across the platform. “Documents” in Sales is specifically for sales enablement content, not your website or marketing uploads.

If you don’t see Files in the menu at all, your user permissions may be restricted. Check with your admin.

I am a Super Admin for this account. The “Files” are gone. The global search brings nothing. Is there somebody from Hubspot listening and can reply?

Hi @05718 and thanks for reaching out about the missing “Files” section on the HubSpot Community.
If you’re using a free account, some limitations are expected.

However, you should still be able to access the file tool through the marketing email tool in your account.
Here is the solution I posted on this post (with a screenshot) “I can’t see files as an option under content”.
I hope this helps!
Please let me know if there is anything I can help with, I’d be deligthed to do so!
Have a fantastic day!

Thanks, the link with the portal ID does work, also the access through the Email tools. But seriously, why did Hubspot remove the easy access from the Content menue? I wasted hours last night to get access to my files.

Thanks for sharing your experience and feedback @05718!
I hear you, having easy access in the Content menu made file retrieval straightforward.
I’ll make sure your comments are passed along to our product team.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with!
Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!

The real problem is, that Hubspot made important changes in the UI and banned the file manager from the Content menue, but didn’t update the online help or FAQ. So if you search for “File Manager” you have plenty of articles explaining you that you have to look in the Content menue. This is an absolut no go for a professional software developer. The easierst way to fix this would be to put the File Manager back to the content menue. It also seems that some user still have it, but it is not visible for me. I am a Super Admin for this account, so I should be able to see it. It seems that there are some inconsistent installations out there, maybe dependent on the server that is used. Another no go.

Hi @05718 and thank you so much for getting back to us and thanks for your patience!

We truly appreciate your feedback, and I’m happy to share that we’ve updated the article “Upload files to use in your HubSpot content” based on your suggestions.

Your input really helps us make HubSpot better for everyone in our Community, so thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts.

If there’s anything else I can assist you with, please don’t hesitate to let me know, I’d be more than happy to help!
Have a wonderful day! :sun_with_face:

For some of us ‘Files’ aren’t accessible through the marketing email tool either! I had to search it on the home search bar and then only go there. I don’t know the exact plan my organisation has but it isn’t free that’s for sure.

Hi @Shal, Thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience!
The File Manager can be accessed directly by searching for “Files” in the main search bar, just as you discovered.
I can see that you are on a paid subscription so you should be able to access files under “Content”. Can you please confirm that it is the case for you?
Thanks so much and have a great day!
