Webhook or alert notification for CRM data exports

We heavily restrict access to the CRM Data Export functionality in our account because we (security team) apparently have no way to monitor, or have visibility into, these events outside of manually exporting and analyzing event logs. Does anyone know of any way that we can monitor these events in realtime (e.g. webhook, automated email to administrators, etc.)?

Hi @JPetrovics,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community!

I wanted to share information about a relevant functionality: there is a guardrail in place that notifies super admins when there is an unusually large export from their account. It’s currently not possible for super admins to configure this notification or set a custom records threshold, but I found this product idea where a user is requesting this feature. It would be great if you could give it an upvote and comment, as Product pays particular attention to the top voted ideas & takes them into consideration along with other feedback channels when they’re working on software improvements.

I’ve found another idea that might be of interest: Possibility to block exports.

I hope this helps!

Thanks @MiaSrebrnjak ! Is this “guardrail” configured somewhere within the administrative console? I can’t find any setting in our console that indicates we’ll be notified if an “unusually large export” occurs? And how is “unusually large” defined in that guardrail?

It appears ours isn’t working. We infrequently have exports occur, and when we do, they’ve historically been around 50 or so records. I just ran a full company export of all 5K+ records and it completed and I downloaded it. No alert.

Thank you for testing this feature @JPetrovics! I’ve seen that you’ve also commented on the Ideas post so you might have already seen why your export hasn’t triggered a notification - it was under the record threshold. It’s currently not possible to adjust the threshold in the admin settings.

I’ve surfaced this to our product team as an “unusually large export” can mean many different things depending on the size of your database. They’re currently looking into this - I’d recommend following this ideas post for any developments and changes. Thank you!
