View in Browser Link

I have set up several Marketing emails and want to have the View in Browser link active. I have set that up using the settings tab and created the web version. However when I send the email to colleagues or to my own gmail account, if I or my colleagues try to View in Browser, we are taken to a Hubspot login page rather than a view of the email in a browser. Would greatly appreciate some help or advice on this problem.

Hi @DLacey

Have you followed the steps in this article when creating the web version of the email?

Do you have an email hosting domain connected? Is the email published or in draft?

Please note: the email’s web version URL will not work when your email is still a draft. The URL will lead to a live page after your email is sent. If you share the preview of the web version of your email with a member of your team, they will need to log in to their HubSpot account before they can view the preview.

Could you share a screenshot of your email settings and maybe send me test email too (my email is in my profile)?

Thanks

Frank

Thank you for replying. I have followed the steps but do not have an email
hosting domain connected. I’m pretty new to this so wondering if you can
tell me that in order to make the view in browser link work properly I must
connect a domain?
Thanks

Hi @DLacey

If you follow these steps you can connect your primary sub-domain for web versions of emails.

Also, I’m just double checking the email hast actually been published and send - not as a test email but properly published. If not, as this article states, “Please note: the email’s web version URL will not work when your email is still a draft. The URL will lead to a live page after your email is sent. If you share the preview of the web version of your email with a member of your team, they will need to log in to their HubSpot account before they can view the preview.

Hope that helps und you get it sorted.

Thanks for this help, Frank. I have a related question.

If I wanted a permanent web archive of our past newsletters’ content to live on our website as a content resource, what are my options? The typical “view in browser” temporary-slug URLs are not indexed (nor optimized). Is there a way to publish or save newsletter content in a blog format (or vice versa)? Your help is appreciated.
