Hey hivemind
We’re embarking on utilising video more for our small agency, but I’m a little confused about hosting! We’d like to use video for social and explainer videos on our webpages (Wordpress) and blogs (HS). Here’s my questions:
1. Should you upload everything to YouTube regardless of if you host elsewhere? Or use a stand alone host to keep it all together & see metrics?
2. I’ve heard good things about Wistia, but looking at the pricing, it’s only 3 videos on free or 10 videos on Pro to embed, which doesn’t seem like much
3. We’ve got wave.video (got a special lifetime discount at Inbound!) for editing and see that they host. Any experience with wave? Should I just use them as I’m already paying for it!?
Thanks HS community
Amanda
Hi @ajkinbrum if you plan on measuring success and integrating into HubSpot so you can use video plays and engagement as part of your marketing/sales/services automation and lead gen efforts I would recommend using Wistia or Vidyard.
We use Wistia and we love it! Here’s a case study were we used HubSpot and te Wistia integration to measure success on video efforts: Boost Sales: Video, Conversational Marketing
Here’s a blog/video comparing Wistia and Vidyard: Wistia vs Vidyard: Video Hosting and Analytics Comparison
You can also embed everything from Youtube if you want to save money for now.
We use Youtube for a lot of videos even thourgh all our website videos are hosted in Wistia. We also put them on Youtube when we believe they can benefit from being searchable in the Youtube search. We treat Youtube more as a social/search channel than a hosting platform.
