Today we realised that in a few hundred contacts the value of “Source” field in “Contact properties” changed from various values to a specific one. For no reason.
This is a new one. Have you heard it before?

If you hover your mouse on the source property and click on Details, you should have more information on where the change is coming from.
Then, you can consult this documentation to get more information on what you found.

Found the culprit. Zapier automation was changing the source.
