Our company needs the ability to add the SAME email address to MULTIPLE contacts.

Use custom unique identifier instead of email address

I agree! I work in manufacturing B2B and we have so many customers that use a shared emaill address like sales@companyname.com and we really need to have that email address under each of the contacts!
