Loving the new custom funnel reporting!
However… It would be even better if we could select a custom date property for each Stage entry.
Why?
Our Deals come from an external source and have a custom ‘Created’ date property. On this date, the Contact associated to the deal should move to a Lifecycle Stage.
Deals are loaded over API, often a few days after that custom ‘Deal Created’ date. But because the Deal is first present in Hubspot on <Deal Created Date +2 or +3>, the Contact converts to the desired Lifecycle Stage on <Deal Created Date +2 or +3> as well. Whereas that should actually be on <Deal Created Date> exactly (without delay).
We do have a custom ‘Converted into Stage Date’ property on the Contact, that is populated with the (exact) custom <Deal Created Date>.
What we would like to do in the custom funnel report builder is to use that ‘Converted into <Stage> Date’ property on the Contact instead of the Hubspot standard property ‘Date Entered <Stage>’
Another option would be to make it possible to copy the ‘Converted into Stage Date’ into ‘Date Entered <Stage>’ (currently it’s not , because the latter is ‘provided by Hubspot and can’t be edited’).
I could possibly also build a ‘regular’ report to show conversion, but the funnel reports look way better.
We have just moved to the new funnel reports having only ever used the any stage legacy funnels previously. The new funnels aren’t as good in my opinion. I don’t know exactly how the previous versions were setup in terms of date property, but we selected ‘all data’ and then added a filter which included a custom date property. In the new funnels, I can’t see a way of selecting all data and doing the same, which is quite annoying and gives us different data to what we had before.
As the original poster says above, our deals have a different ‘create’ date to the date the deals are created. That may sound confusing so let me explain our process.
Lead/deal is received on 28th February (which for this example is a Saturday) > our office is closed, so the lead isn’t responded to/added to HubSpot until Monday 2nd March when back in the office > the create date is therefore two days later than the enquiry date/the date the deal should have been created.
Another example would be a deal that enquires out of hours and is added to HubSpot the next day. The create date is different to the actual enquiry date.
Our business therefore does not want to see data for when the activity occured, we want to see it based on custom date properties. I also note that in other HubSpot reports, e.g. bar charts, you can stipulate which date property the data is based on. Why can’t we do that for funnels?
I find it strange that HubSpot allows you to stipulate date properties for pretty much all other charts but not funnels. Would be good to know why, or better yet, add that same functionality to funnel reports. There is very little room to edit the way new funnels work.
