Updating Knowledge Base Template

Hey there,
I’m looking to switch up the default knowledge base page and am trying im implement one of the templates available through the marketplace. What we currently have is pretty bare bones and doesn’t allow for a lot of customization options (it’s whatever Hubspot offers right out of the box). However, it doesn’t appear that any of these templates will apply to my Knowledge Base, as it seems like my only options are website pages, landing pages, and a blog.

We are only using hubspot to stand up our Knowledge Base for our website, so I don’t need the theme to apply to any other pages. When I choose to edit the theme in the knowledge base drop down (Service > Knowledge Base > Configure > Theme) it won’t let me apply any of the themes I’ve downloaded. Is there something I’m missing here, or is there only one default theme a Knowledge Base can be?

Hey @N_Reedy unfortunately the latter is correct now. The knowledgebase does not use the CMS and cannot use CMS themes. There is only one knowledgebase theme that has limited customisation options. It’s not possible to download a custom theme for KB pages right now.

Hi @TomM2. I stumbled upon this thread and seeing your answer already figured as much. However I’m left with one question:

When creating Modules you can select the context KNOWLEDGE_BASE. Where does this leave these modules? Since header, article, nor footer has a DnD area; what is this option for?

HEy @LvanAggelen good question, there’s no drag and drop UI element within the HubSpot knowledgebase templates, you can create your own templates however. If you create your own templates you can call a KB module into this via hubl. So it needs to be coded into the template itself and can’t be dynamically draq and dropped like CMS pages can.

Can you really create a template for the Knowledge Base? I can’t seem to find how to change the theme or template of the KB, it seems they only have the one HubSpot KB theme available; or am I wrong?

Hi @LvanAggelen,
Thank you for posting to the Community!
I understand that you want to change the theme/template of your Knowledge Base. I’d like to tag in some of our Top Contributors to see if they have any advice here -- Hi @Indra @JenBergren and @Josh. Do any of you all know if this is possible? If so, what steps should @LvanAggelen take?
Thank you!
