I did not want to assume and I was unable to get a concrete answer from the LB. When viewing Analytics Tools, are the Sessions overall sessions, opposed to Unique Sessions? It appears so, but I wanted to certain before I answer my stakeholder’s question. I understand there is a New Visitor Session metric, but I wanted to see if there was a Unique Session metric.
Hey @aaronweissseo, thanks for reaching out! Looking at this HubSpot Knowledge Base article:
HubSpot does not track unique visitors. This metric is based on user behavior and is not always reliable. A user may clear their cookies, use a different browser, or block cookies. While these page views are still tracked, all of these actions will count toward multiple unique visitors for the same actual visitor.
So the session reports you’re seeing are overall sessions from all users, not unique users. You can check out the new & returning visitor reports to get a sense for seemingly net new traffic to the website within a given time period.
While the same notes from HubSpot above will apply, you can leverage Google Analytics for more detailed reporting around unique website visitors (and more detailed reporting around your website analytics in general).
Hope this helps!!
Hi, I wonder how can we do the new and returning visitor report in HubSpot? Do you have any guidelines on this?
Me neither
