I currently have a calculation that I made using Data Sets that basically adds up all the deals that each contact has made in the past 1.5 years so that I can have a running revenue number for each person. It would be nice if I could turn this field into a contact property without having to export/import. I need it to be automated. Is this possible? Is there any other way for me to accomplish this goal?
Hey @LSimon3 I don’t see datasets available at all in workflows, which is what would be used to copy data from one object to another automatically.
The only other option I would have thought of would be through a webhook or custom integration, it does look like there’s no datasets API to access this data however. So it looks like import/export is the only way to achieve this right now unfortunately.
I can see this definitely being useful though, I actually just created a feature request for this here if you’d like to give it an upvote!
@LSimon3 I created something similar for reporting on Net Revenue Retention using custom-coded workflows.
I created a property on each deal called “NRR Decimal” which was the percentage that the specific deal added up to the deal owner’s retention target.
So if a deal was worth $100 and my target was 10,000, the property would calculate and fill with 0.01 etc.
You could create the same idea for your problem and instead of updating the field, you can just add to it each time a deal goes through.
Hey @LSimon3 have you tried building a Calculated property that makes this count automatically?
I leave you here an article on how they work
Hope this helps
