Transactional Emails

Status: Idea Submitted

When a transactional email is sent to a contact we see the activity within the contact’s activity timeline. However, we don’t actually see what the contact received until the contact replies and the reply is logged to the CRM. Below is the example of what we see.

It would be extremely helpful if we could see a screenshot of the email the contact received. For example, when the transactional email is sent, during the sending process the software could take a screenshot of how it rendered and place that screen capture below the transactional email activity that is currently in the contact’s timeline.

One of the key advantages of sending emails via a sequence vs transactional emails is that the sequence email content is displayed on the contact’s activity timeline. Transactional emails are not. Our teams prefer Sequences for this reason, but using Sequences in this way is not intended and cobbled. Thank you for your consideration.

This is really needed! It’s frustrating that you cannot see the content of an email that was sent out, especially when using placeholders. This would also help wih diagnosing any issues with emails that have been sent.

Update: Our company is actively exploring a new ERP solution due to this limitation. The lack of visibility into what contacts receive significantly erodes trust—so much so that broader implementation is off the table all together.
