Is there an ability to send text messages to customers directly within HubSpot? Is there an associated cost for such a feature?

Yes, this is possible - it requires one of the add-ons mentioned at the beginning of this article: Create and send SMS messages in HubSpot

Alternatively, you could look into providers that integrate directly with HubSpot: HubSpot Marketplace - Sakari SMS Texting is the leading one.

@clvtross I get this one a lot from clients. HubSpot doesn’t send regular SMS texts natively from the CRM, so you’ll need a connected tool for it. The cost depends on which route you pick.

  • Use a third-party SMS app from the HubSpot Marketplace (Twilio, Salesmsg, Aloware and similar). Texts log to the contact timeline
  • Check pricing with the app itself. Most charge per user or per message on top of your HubSpot plan
  • If your customers use WhatsApp, HubSpot has a native WhatsApp integration in the inbox. It’s a separate setup with Meta approval
  • Whatever you choose, get opt-in consent first. SMS has stricter rules than email
  • Test with one rep before rolling it out to the team

Just to add to the helpful answers above, I think it really depends on what you’re looking to achieve. Are you mainly interested in having one-on-one text conversations with customers, sending automated SMS campaigns, or a bit of both?
