Hello everyone!
I’m setting up HubSpot for Account Management / Customer Success and I’m trying to create a centralized operational view.
What I need is:
A report or view that shows all Companies
Grouped or organized by Company
Showing all open Tasks / Next Steps related to each Company
Ideally sortable by priority (task priority or company priority)
Example:
Company A
Task 1
Task 2
Company B
Task 1
Task 2
I’ve already tried:
Tasks view and Custom Report Builder (Tasks + Companies)
But I still can’t find a good way to group tasks by Company in one operational view/dashboard.
Has anyone built something similar for Account Management or Customer Success workflows in HubSpot?
Would love recommendations, best practices, or workaround ideas.
Thank you!
Hi @TessGaraudeG,
I’d recommend signing up for the inline association table beta here: HubSpot Login and Sign in
You might not be able to enroll into it currently, private betas don’t always accept new users - it does seem to solve what you’re trying to accomplish.
Reports will inevitably be a bit clunky to navigate. Until you’ve access to the beta, a pivot table in the custom report builder is your best option, visualizing tasks information by companies.
Best regards!
Hi @TessGaraudeG,
Yes, a lot of Customer Success and Account Management teams try to build something similar in HubSpot, and honestly, this is one of the areas where HubSpot can feel a little awkward operationally.
What you’re trying to create is basically a company-centric task management view, but HubSpot’s task tools are naturally more task-centric than account-centric. So while tasks can be associated with Companies, HubSpot doesn’t always make it easy to create a clean “Company → all open next steps underneath” operational layout natively.
The closest workaround most teams use is:
- creating a custom report using Companies + Tasks,
- filtering only open tasks,
- then grouping by Company Name.
The limitation is that the visualization/report formatting still won’t behave exactly like a true expandable operational task board.
A lot of Customer Success teams also end up using:
- saved task views filtered by owner/pipeline,
- custom Company properties like “Next Action Needed,”
- or even creating a dedicated Success pipeline/ticket structure when account management becomes more operationally complex.
If prioritization is important, adding a Company Priority property alongside Task Priority usually helps a lot with sorting and filtering the workload more meaningfully.
So honestly, you’re not missing some obvious setting. HubSpot can absolutely support this operationally, but it usually requires a bit of workflow structure and reporting design to make it feel usable day-to-day.
And yes, this is a pretty common growing pain once Customer Success workflows become more relationship-driven rather than just deal-driven. If you need any assistance, the team at WebGuruz Technologies can help you gain another perspective on structuring the operational view or can help you make the reporting more usable for CS/account management teams long-term.
Hope this helped!
