We previously had a paid HubSpot subscription with an integration to Salesforce, but after canceling our subscription, we’re now using a free HubSpot account. We understand that with a free account, syncing with Salesforce should no longer be possible, but we’re still experiencing ongoing syncing between the two platforms, despite the fact that there is no active integration on the Salesforce side.
Could you help us with the following?
- Identifying Data Sources: Can you help us identify which Salesforce data sources or integrations are still syncing with HubSpot?
- Residual Data: Is any Salesforce data still stored in our HubSpot account? If so, how can we remove it completely?
- Disconnection Impacts: Are there any potential issues or downstream effects we should be aware of when fully disconnecting Salesforce from HubSpot?
We need to resolve this issue as soon as possible, as it is critical for us to ensure no data continues to sync.
thank you!
Hi @TRichartz5! Welcome to the Community-- happy to have you here
I recommend reviewing the Knowledge Base article on how to Uninstall the HubSpot-Salesforce integration. There are steps you can take in HubSpot and in Salesforce.
Do you have any examples of a record you noticed syncing after the disconnection? It could be good to work backward from that example to find the source.
To our Salesforce experts, @LaurenRyan, @OPerek-Clark, @trevordjones would y’all be willing to share any advice or troubleshooting suggestions for @TRichartz5? Thanks!
Best,
Kennedy
Hi Kennedyp,
This is really helpful—thank you! It actually seems that the integration is still active in Salesforce, which is surprising given the information from the Salesforce helpdesk.
Unfortunately, I’m not very tech-savvy, and when attempting to uninstall the integration, I noticed a message listing all the components that would be deleted. Could you please confirm whether removing these components will affect any existing data or visuals in Salesforce?
I’m just a bit concerned that uninstalling might impact some of the data or functionality in Salesforce. Thank you again for your quick response—I truly appreciate it!
Hey @TRichartz5! So glad you found that. Those scopes would all pertain to the HubSpot connection, so your Salesforce data should not be affected!
hi Kennedyp!
First of all, apologies for my late reply! Thank you for confirming that deactivating HubSpot will not affect the Salesforce data. I will follow the instructions. I appreciate your support and quick responses. Have a wonderful day, and many thanks again!
Hi @TRichartz5
If you’re still seeing records flow after downgrading to a free HubSpot account, it usually means the Salesforce-side package (the “HubSpot Integration” managed app) is still active.
The right step is to uninstall that app directly in Salesforce. HubSpot’s guide on uninstalling is clear and safe to follow
(Uninstall the HubSpot-Salesforce integration )
Removing those components won’t delete your Salesforce records themselves, only the sync connectors.
On the HubSpot side, any Salesforce data that synced while the integration was active will remain stored
You can either bulk delete or overwrite those records using HubSpot’s imort tools
(Delete CRM records )
Downstream impact: once the managed package is removed, no new data will pass. Reports, dashboards, or fields inside Salesforce that were populated by HubSpot will just stop refreshing but won’t disappear. It’s good practice to audit any workflows or reports that referenced HubSpot-originated fields so nothing breaks unexpectedly.
In 2025, a lot of teams also run into ghost syncs because of old middle-layer tools (Zapier flows, legacy ETL scripts, or custom API keys left open). Double-check your Salesforce Connected Apps list and HubSpot API key usage to rule those out.
And just to mention: some ops teams today sidestep these headaches by putting a sync layer in the middle that gives them a clear “off switch” and full audit of where data’s moving. A platform like Stacksync does that in real time, so when you disconnect, you actually know the flow has stopped for good.
Hope this helps.
